The Associate Vice President for Graduate Studies, Research, and International Education has oversight responsibility for the Research and Sponsored Programs office, the Graduate School, International Studies, and interdisciplinary units such as CeMaST. The Research and Sponsored Programs office is the conduit for all sponsored research in the University including compliance issues related to research. The Graduate School serves graduate education through recruitment, admissions, retention, and graduation support activities to Colleges and Departments.

The Associate Vice President for Technology has oversight responsibility for the University's Campus Technology Support Group, which includes Classroom Technology Support, Student Technology Support, Institutional Web Support, Computer Infrastructure & Internet Support, and Telecommunication & Network Support. The Campus Technology Support Group is responsible for building a "technology-friendly campus" in support of teaching, research, public service, and outreach activities at Illinois State through the application of state-of-the-art computer and Internet technologies throughout the University and campus residences. The Associate Vice President for Technology also supervise the Center for Teaching, Learning and Technology with Assistant Provost Chuck McGuire.

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management and Academic Services are Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar (with responsibilities for the Undergraduate Catalog and Scheduling), and University College (which includes Academic Advising, Preview summer orientation, and various units offering student academic support services). The Office of Enrollment Management and Academic Services assumes a leadership role in monitoring on-campus enrollment by coordinating the establishment of enrollment targets for academic programs and the University; works toward providing students with a seamless transition to Illinois State from admission to graduation; coordinates academic support and transition services for prospective and currently enrolled students; and coordinates various communication efforts for all areas of EMAS as they relate to students, faculty, staff, and university constituents.
