Governance

The tradition of shared governance at Illinois State University has created, and continues to shape, the University's distinctiveness and excellence. Together, the Board of Trustees, Administration, Academic Senate, Administrative/Professional Council, Civil Service Council, Student Government Association and other representative bodies, carry out their respective responsibilities and advisory capacities not as isolated entities, but as interdependent constituents committed to the University's mission. College Councils:

Faculty and student members are elected to College Councils to participate in determining college policy and procedures in accordance with the Constitutution of Illinois State Univeristy and with the bylaws of the Academic Senate.
