Resources from Dr. Mark Taylor's presentations (Friday, February 23, 2007):

The Faculty Excellence Initiative Committee is an interdisciplinary team of faculty and staff from each college as well as the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, University Assessment Office, Scholarship of Teaching and Learning and the Center for Teaching Learning & Technology. The Initiative offers faculty new grant opportunities for travel, summer support and release time for teaching, research or other faculty activities (see right for information about these new opportunities).

The purpose of the Faculty Excellence Initiative is to:

  1. Coordinate the various faculty support activities already underway on campus;
  2. Provide significant administrative support for development of faculty as professionals and as individuals;
  3. Enhance faculty retention;
  4. Enhance the campus culture of supporting faculty activities and careers.
